Ex-Dunluce pupil Clare Smyth has become the first female chef to win three Michelin stars for her London based restaurant "Core" - barely three years after opening her own establishment. Whilst at Dunluce, Clare worked at a local restaurant during the holidays, which is where she was inspired to become a chef. She left school at sixteen to study catering at Highbury College in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Clare went on to work for many of the top chefs in the country and overseas, eventually winning the title of 'Young Cornish Fish Chef of the Year.' In 2002, she was offered a job working for Gordon Ramsay at "Restaurant Gordon Ramsay," where she would later go on to become Gordons head chef. Nine years later, and after many awards and accolades, Clare opened her own restaurant, "Core," in London and has continued to impress in the culinary world as one of the top chefs in the World.
Dunluce School would like to offer our congratulations to Clare for all of her amazing achievements, we are extremely proud of everything she has accomplished.
